However people have heard about the DRCS, the first contact with the service is made personally.

How do I arrange to come for counselling?
Ring us on 01629 812710. There is usually someone available to take your call on weekday mornings between 9 am and 5 pm. We have a 24-hour answer phone so it doesn’t matter if the office is closed. We will return your call as soon as possible

When I ring...what happens next?
We will take your name, address and telephone number and add you to our client list.  When an appointment is available we will ring to ask if you would like it.  If you leave a message, please let us know if we can leave a message when we ring you back.

Can disabled people be seen too?
Yes. Our rooms are on the ground floor without a step at entry.

Can I come with my partner?
Yes, as long as you both want counselling.

How long does it take to get an appointment?
We will contact you as quickly as possible, Our waiting time varies depending on how busy we are.  Sometimes it takes longer, particularly if you find it difficult to agree a time and date that is convenient to both you and the counsellor. It is usually quicker if you are able to attend sessions in Bakewell

How long do appointments last?
Your first appointment will last about an hour, and will enable you to decide if counselling will be right for you or whether another source of help would be better. If you decide on counselling, each session will last 50 minutes.

What if counselling is not right for me?
We will discuss the various options open to you, and help you decide which is best.

Moving on...
Counselling is all about changing your life for the better.
Your counsellor will encourage and support any action that could be beneficial to you and your situation.
When you feel able to move on, you will know that the support of the DRCS is always there, should you need it.
